I
thought that my original photo was a bit too plain and I wanted a rockier feel
to it so I applied some grain to the image to add texture to the photograph. In the filter option, you could adjust the amount of grain that you wanted to add to the image which was helpful as I could choose exactly how I wanted my image to look.
In my audience feedback my peers commented on how my photo was slightly too dark so using the Brightness/Contrast option, I brightened up the image, this made the image stand out more and was more effective as a front cover image. I also turned the contrast up to add more shadows which makes the photograph seem as though it is popping out of the screen.

We used Nikon SLR cameras with studio lights which gave us more freedom of how much lighting we wanted. The cameras had a manual mode which allowed me to adjust the aperature and shutter speeds to get the perfect photo in the end. For the Album Cover on my double page spread, i used a fisheye lens to take the photo of the cat as it makes a very arty and interesting distortion which was the rock look I was going for.
